It’s never good when there is a product recall, but it always seems far worse when it involves any sort of product that a baby or small child would use. The reason we say this is because Mothercare is recalling their My First Keys because of a potential risk to its battery, as the compartment could come off, which then would expose the button cell battery.

Is your Mothercare My First Keys Affected? The first thing you need to know is that the recall is for those toys that were sold either in-store or online at Mothercare from June 2017 to April 2018. If you are still uncertain, then you can just check the batch code.

The affected My First Keys batch Codes are 02-161024, 02-161205 and 02-170509, and you will see in the image above just how to find the information.

Mothercare is to offer a full refund for those affected, but do please make certain that you stop using this toy immediately and take it to your nearest Mothercare Store for that full refund.
